At LYDF, we believe that Model United Nations should be an academic activity available to everyone, regardless of background. 

The London Youth Diplomacy Foundation is founded by a group of like-minded university and Sixth Form students who have previously participated, chaired and organised various high school conferences around London. Our mission centres on delivering meaningful programmes around schools in the United Kingdom, to cultivate skills in diplomacy. The Board of Trustees is composed of various stakeholders, including university students, Sixth Form students, and teachers, to deliver cross-generational change.

The Foundation offers programs beyond the annual conference, London Youth Model United Nations, but also various #MUNforALL initiatives which offer students a taste of the study of diplomacy and international relations.

Dear Friends of LYDF,

We believe that diplomacy is fundamentally a social experience. Delegates participate in Model United Nations conferences not only because they are passionate about the topics that they debate in committees, but also because of the unrivalled opporutnity to meet others who think alike. LYDF has been committed to helping everyone experience this on all levels, whether you are a delegate who’s making their first speech, a seasoned Assistant Chair coming back to lead their first 40-person committee, or as a teacher who’s trying to provide a unique experience for their students.

The Foundation, as well as the London YouthMUN has substantially expanded over the last two years, and this is all thanks to you, for engaging with our conference and our side initiatives, as well as your constant and supportive feedback towards improving our projects. As a result, we have expanded our offerings as well to make it even easier to experience diplomacy and leadership first hand. Our updated strategy not only targets students but also teachers and other stakeholders who are equally as passionate to make diplomacy accessible for everyone.   • London YouthMUN 2026

    London YouthMUN 2026

    Under the leadership of Secretary-General Josh Mills, the 2nd London YouthMUN featured an expanded bursary programme and substantial improvements in the delegate experience, with more than 650 students across 20 countries joining a chairing team of over 60 on the LSE Campus. London YouthMUN 2026 also expanded the YouthMUN Tour, providing not only academic support but also help establishing school-based conferences across the United Kingdom.

  • London YouthMUN 2025

    Under the leadership of Secretary-General Alberto Martino, the first London YouthMUN exemplifies the interdisciplinary and intercollegiate nature of LYDF, with more than 550 students across 30 countries joining a chairing team of over 70 on the LSE Campus. London YouthMUN 2025 saw an academic expansion with a new Rules of Procedure, diversified committee offerings under various clusters, and a YouthMUN Tour that has gone international.

  • LSEMUN High School 2024

    Under the leadership of Secretary-General Kelvin Ng, LSEMUN HIgh School 2024 saw more than 500 students join the Conference for the first time, alongside the introduction of the Assistant Chair Programme, the SDG Policy Challenge and the MUN Academy. LSEMUN High School 2024 also saw the expansion of the Secretariat involving other members from other London universities apart from LSE, setting the stage for the London Youth Diplomacy Foundation.

  • LSE YouthMUN 2023

    Under the leadership of Secretary-General Megha Vinesh, LSE YouthMUN was the first post-COVID conference which saw the consolidation of the YouthMUN Tour in order to broaden delegate engagement, and a dedicated Chair Training Programme for aspiring university students wanting to develop their leadership skills.
