UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD)

Topic: Regulating Multinational Corporations' (MNCs) Dominance in Trade

Cluster A, Advanced Committee, Sixth Form

Carlotta is a third-year undergraduate at the LSE studying Politics and Philosophy; she is from Italy, but moved to London for university. She has been involved in Model UN since her first year of high-school and the UK Circuit truly cemented this love.

Outside of her studies and MUN, you are likely to find her wasting (too much) time at the cinema.

She can't wait to chair UNCTAD and see what great job you'll do!

Head Chair: Carlotta Queirazza

I am a first year PPE student at SOAS, largely interested in occupational or exploitative economic and legal mechanisms of neo-colonialism. I also DJ, am a big gamer, and an avid wanna be investigative journalist. I'm very passionate about inclusive education, collective organisation and formalised debate, so YouthMUN is a great opportunity to blend the three interests.

Deputy Chair: Will Power

Hi, I’m Khaira, a year 13 studying Politics, Sociology, and French, and I am the assistant chair for UNCTAD. Coming from a state funded school, I’m passionate about making politics, and particularly Model UNs more accessible for people like me. I hope to use my position as an assistant chair to learn more about the role that MNCs play in global trade, and the best ways to regulate their influence. When I'm not being a massive politics nerd, I like to listen to 80s music and do embroidery!

Assistant Chair: Khaira De Souza
